Adhering to the College's Three Mentor Collaborative model and its international integration of industry and education, the Department of Visual Communication Design at the International Institute of Creative Design (IICD) continues to explore the distinctive educational approach of the Game Design programme and promote achievements in industry competitions. Under the guidance of Ms Yang Yuan from the Visual Communication Design Department, Hu Pingping, a first-year postgraduate student specialising in digital media and digital imagery, won the Most Market Potential Award in the special invitational track of the Good Games for Good Deeds 2024 Major Themed Game Competition organised by Poker City, with her original work titled Confession of a Pan-fried Bun. Hu Pingping was also invited to attend the award ceremony at the 2024 WePlay Cultural Exhibition. The 2024 WePlay Cultural Exhibition attracted nearly 300 game companies and studios showcasing around 400 games, drawing a large number of game developers, university teachers, students, and gaming enthusiasts to visit and learn.

The evaluation framework for the Good Games for Good Deeds 2024 special invitational track included five key criteria: social impact, educational value, sustainable development, unique perspective, and optimal integration. Entries were comprehensively judged based on creativity, completeness, and adherence to specifications. Hu Pingping's work, through its unique character perspective and simple yet engaging visual style, creatively depicted the fast-paced lifestyle of urban residents in Shanghai. The humorous and relaxed tone of the game resonated with contemporary young people's aesthetic tastes and aligned perfectly with the objectives of game design.
