To enhance academic integrity among postgraduate students and improve their awareness and standards of academic honesty, the International Institute of Creative Design (IICD) held a specialised seminar on academic ethics and integrity education in the lecture hall on the first floor of the Industry-Education Integration Building at Changning Campus on 12 December. The seminar was attended by Ma Jianli, Deputy Party Secretary of the School of Art and Design; Fan Rong, Vice Dean of IICD; Huang Jingshi, Secretary of the IICD Faculty Party Branch; and counsellor Li Zhihai. All postgraduate students of the 2024 cohort participated in the seminar, which was hosted by Ma Jianli.

Ma Jianli highlighted the importance of academic integrity for students' future careers, reminding students of the serious consequences associated with academic misconduct. He urged students to adhere strictly to academic guidelines, ensure the reliability of their research, and work together to foster an honest academic environment.

Fan Rong provided a detailed explanation on the values underlying academic integrity, emphasising the gravity of ethical violations. He also pointed out common but easily overlooked details in research practice, including avoiding multiple submissions of the same manuscript, properly citing references, and respecting intellectual property rights.

Huang Jingshi discussed key issues in academic ethics through case studies, vividly illustrating the severe consequences of academic misconduct. He stated that the institute would strengthen self-inspection measures, promote integrity education, and proactively prevent academic dishonesty.

This seminar effectively reinforced awareness of academic integrity and contributed positively to building a healthy academic environment within the institute.
