On 4 December, the International Institute of Creative Design (IICD) welcomed the visit of senior faculty members and experts from the College of Design, Dongseo University (DSU), Korea. During this visit, Professor Zhang Zhouning, Dean of DSU's College of Design, delivered an inspiring lecture titled Design Education, Designing the Future to our faculty and students.
At 3:00 pm on 4 December, Professor Zhang Zhouning presented his lecture in the Virtual Reality Comprehensive Experimental Centre (Room G327) of the Industry-Education Integration Building at Changning campus. Centred around DSU College of Design's core educational philosophy, Design with I・M・P・A・C・T, Professor Zhang elaborated in detail on how the College promotes modernisation and internationalisation of design education through six key elements: Innovation, Methodology, Practice, Adaptability, Collaboration, and Technology. He also introduced DSU’s curriculum structure, distinctive teaching approaches, and industry-integrated training models, highlighting the College's strengths in interdisciplinary collaboration, global education, and cutting-edge technological applications. His lecture provided valuable insights and inspiration, clearly demonstrating the future direction and immense potential of design education.
At the conclusion of the lecture, Professor Gu Yi, Dean of the International Institute of Creative Design, delivered a thoughtful summary. After expressing sincere gratitude for Professor Zhang's insightful presentation, Professor Gu highly praised Dongseo University's achievements in academic research and talent cultivation. He expressed confidence that through joint efforts, the collaboration between the two institutions could further deepen, jointly nurturing more high-quality talents with global vision and innovative capabilities.
This visit and lecture by senior faculty members and experts from Dongseo University's College of Design have injected new vitality into the academic exchange and collaboration between our two institutions.
