On the afternoon of March 2, a group of seven people including Gu Yi, the dean of the International Institute of Creative Design, Ma Jianli, the deputy secretary, and Xu Rongrong, the deputy dean, visited the College of Design and Innovation,Tongji University for research and exchange. Fan Shengxi, the former secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Design and Creativity of Tongji University and the vice chairman of the Professional Committee of Design Discipline, and Professor Zhou Hongtao, the vice president, warmly received our group.
At the exchange meeting, the leaders of both sides introduced the basic situation of the two institutes, and made full and in-depth exchanges in the aspects of party building, discipline construction, talent training, international exchanges, student work, etc.
The International Institute of Creative Design will welcome the first batch of undergraduate and graduate students of new majors in 2023. The design discipline of the College of Design and Innovation,Tongji University was selected as the world-class discipline construction in 2017. The three majors of industrial design, environmental design and visual communication design were selected into the list of national first-class undergraduate professional construction sites in 2019 and 2020 respectively. The results of this research and exchange have important reference significance for the following discipline construction and talent training of the college.
