HOLISTIC LIFE
Welcome to Holistic Life. In this section you'll find information pertaining to a number of different things all surrounding natural ways to heal, or destress. One of those methods is called Aromatherapy, and by using certain Terpenes (Oils) placing a few drops into the diffuser (a unit similar to a humidifier that puts out a mist with the scent of whatever oil used).
Terpenes are found in Nature, and are in all forms of food. There are Terpenes that can help you live a more relaxed, and healthy life, and some of these have been studied by independent groups, as well as government organizations. Terpenes are very beneficial to the body, and are only needed in very tiny amounts in order for them to be bioavailable. We'll go over all the main Terpenes, and what effect they have on the mind and body. Most are purchased very inexpensively, and a decent diffuser that is easy to clean and operate can be bought for under 40 dollars most times.
We will also be discussing how to grow indoor vegetables, fruits and herbs. With a little effort, and we do mean little, You can gather all the necessary items from a local hardware store, and have a small indoor garden going in an afternoon. Lights can now be bought online for very reasonable prices, and many are equipped with Horticulture LED's that help a plant grow as fast as if it were outside in the Sun itself! We'll have helpful guides and links that show you just how to do it. You can also buy ready made grow chambers online, but typically they cost 4X what it would cost to just make one.
There is also a Cannabis 101 section that has a comprehensive section on Terpenes as well. This section will also cover the Endocannabinoid system in our bodies, and explore how we are somewhat designed to use Cannabis. We are equipped with THC receptors in our bodies, and brain. We also have an entire system throughout our bodies designed to utilize the benefits of Cannabis, and CBD.
We aspire to make everything as current, accurate and relevant as possible. Browse the articles, follow a few links and please forgive our construction phase. Kisses from management
Indoor Growing: Welcome to where we'll be sharing information and experiences on the topic of our 'inside garden'. Technology has improved life in a variety of arenas and this one is no different; the cost of electric lights has gone down so much that most anyone can purchase lights to grow almost anything! We've experimented with lights, rigs and nutrients over the years; we're excited to share what we've learned.
We've got cauliflower, broccoli, tomatoes, peppers, and so much more! We'll include a section on fertilizers/nutrients we use and the grow medium we prefer. We keep everything free from unnecessary chemicals as often as possible, and with the grow medium we use there are generally no insects to contend with. We prefer using coco-coir, which it totally devoid of nutrients so right off the bat you'll need to add in a number of things to make the medium capable of growing something. Coco-coir created from coconut shells, so it's extremely eco-friendly and sustainable. It's an excellent growing medium; after you add in some perlite and Hydroton clay pellets... you'll create a lovely loose mix that your plant will adore.
Terpenes & Aromatherapy: Thanks for visiting our section on Terpenes, and Aromatherapy. Terpenes are very aromatic compounds that determine the smell of many plants and herbs, such as rosemary & lavender. While many people may be familiar with Terpenes associated with Cannabis, many fruits and vegetables contain Terpenes. Cannabis houses the largest variety, and highest dosages however.
In Aromatherapy, the Terpenes in essential oils are what affects us as physical beings. They can calm us, or help us creatively. They are ale to help us sleep, or feel energized. Certain businesses associated with Holistic lifestyles use Aromatherapy oils in their buildings to help keep everyone's mood elevated. Ever notice how relaxed you feel sometimes when entering some buildings or shops that have fragrances in the air?
Cannabis 101: In this section we'll explore how Cannabis is intricately woven into our genetics. Most people may be unaware, but our bodies are equipped with what's called an Endocannabinoid system. Simply put, that means we have receptors in our bodies and brain that are able to break down certain cannabinoids. CBD, and THC are only two, of over 100 Cannabinoids our bodies are able to utilize.
Cannabinoids, such as Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), activate receptors in the body’s Endocannabinoid system. This is what creates the “high” that people experience when they use cannabis. Cannabidiol (CBD) is another cannabinoid that is becoming more and more popular for its medicinal properties. Although CBD acts on some of the same receptors as THC, it influences them differently and does not create any euphoria. So far, 104 Cannabinoids are available in Cannabis with basically THC, and CBD being the two the scientific community are focusing on.
Cannabis is a complex plant, and only now that it's being deregulated are we finding all the medicinal uses it has, and it has many. There have also been decades of lies surrounding Cannabis, and it's effects on the human body, and mind. Hopefully we can shed some much needed light on this situation.
